Crystal Classic

An Eternia Crystal in its default appearance.

The Eternia Crystal is the main focal point of The Story. Defending crystals from waves of enemies is the main objective of the Dungeon Defenders series.

Story[]

The origin of the Eternia Crystal has to do with the parents of the four playable heroes. They banished an immortal evil called the 'old ones' inside Eternia Crystals and now their children must stop the hordes of enemies from unleashing the evil that resides within them.

In-Game[]

On most maps, one or more Eternia Crystals have to be defended from enemy attacks. The crystal has a finite amount of health, depending on the map and difficulty set. On Easy/Medium/Hard, all cores get fully healed after each wave. They also get healed before a boss fight on all difficulty levels, on most maps. The heroes will lose if any core is destroyed. Due to the dark energy crystals hold, hero defenses cannot be summoned too close to them, except for Healing Auras.

Customization[]

Players can edit their crystal's colors under three color channels. New Crystal Skins are unlocked by accomplishing achievements.

Notes[]

  • A Summoner can move his minions into the dark energy areas or the cores themselves, after summoning them outside their forbidding radii. Minions do not collide with Eternia Crystals, except for the top face of their hitbox. If a minion somehow gets on top of a core, it will not be able to walk off.
  • On the map Moonbase, all three crystals have to be destroyed for the heroes to lose. However, each core lost becomes a new enemy spawn point which adds more enemies to every wave that follows.
  • The Crystal Core pet obtainable late-game can consume mana to repair Eternia Crystals during combat.
