The Gas or Poison Trap is a Huntress/Ranger defense.
While active, it engulfs enemies in coughing gas, stunning weaker opponents for the charge's duration.
Enemies Immune[]
The trap does not affect enemies immune to poison or any of the following enemies, regardless of their elemental affinity:
- Ogres
- Bosses
- Kobolds (after igniting)
- Dark Elf Warriors
- Skeletons
- Wyverns
- Spiders
- Goblin Copters
- Harbingers
- Siege Mechs
- Wasps
- Evil Heroes
- Cyclopes
- Nut Crackers
When placed on a narrow path or doorway, the enemies affected by this trap can completely block the path, preventing anything from passing through, including foes unaffected by the trap. Combined with any defense or weapon capable of hitting multiple targets at once, this can be a very powerful trap.
On Nightmare difficulty, this trap is very useful against Sharken and Djinn to protect other defenses from getting pushed or destroyed instantly.
Gas Trap stun duration scales up with Defense Base HEALTH stat. Defense Base Damage stat does not affect the Gas Trap in any way.

- On Nightmare and Ascension, all traps have 25% less charges. Gas Trap charges are 25% shorter.

Upgrade Table[]
- Upgrading a hero defense increases its damage by 10% per level and its health, lifespan or detonation count by 20%. A fully upgraded defense will have +50% damage and +100% health/lifespan/detonation count.
- In Redux, any defense not a Lightning or Deadly Striker Tower instead gains +20% damage per upgrade, for a total of +100% if maxed out.
- On the other hand, upgrading a defense treats as if the builder's Range and Defense Rate stats were higher. A level 1 turret receives a +2 bonus, while a level 5 turret gets +36.
In Other Dungeon Defenders Games[]
The Gas Trap is renamed to Poison Trap in Dungeon Defenders: Awakened. It can suspend Goblin Copters. The duration of charges are drastically reduced on Massacre difficulty. Upgrading the trap on any difficulty level will increase the effect duration by a percentage of its base.
