The Heavy, also known as Heavy Weapons Guy, is a Steam-exclusive ranged pet. He fires at enemies from a distance with his minigun, dealing non-elemental damage. He becomes usable at level 25. Like every other familiar, its stats and number of upgrade levels are randomized.
Heavy was planned to be a pre-order bonus to those that bought the game on Steam, however it is now available to everyone who buys the game on Steam, regardless of purchase date. Upon entering the Tavern for the first time, there will be two crates containing your bonuses; one of these will contain Heavy (as well as the other three TF2 Familiars).
Heavy will shoot roughly 4 times a second. It only possesses an upgradeable physical damage and Hero Damage stat, and as such is a pet of choice for many low-level physical DPS-spec heroes.
