There are three Elements in Etheria: Fire, Lightning, and Poison. Many weapons and familiars deal elemental damage, and some defenses are connected to an element. Additionally, monsters may have an affinity for one of the elements.
Some towers, traps, player abilities, and auras are associated with an element.

Monsters with an elemental affinity will display a slight particle effect on the monster's character model. Elemental affinity will protect the monster from that type of damage, as well as Monk auras connected to that element. It will also make the monster deal additional elemental damage on all of its attacks.
Example: a Goblin with a poison affinity will not be slowed by an Ensnare aura; a Goblin with a fire affinity will not take any damage from a Fireball tower.
