The Proximity Mine or Explosive Trap is the first defense available to the Huntress/Ranger.

Upon detonation, this trap creates an explosive blast that hits all enemies in its radius for non-elemental damage. Additional Proximity Mines within the blast radius will trigger simultaneously.

At high stats, this and the Oil Trap will have a significantly bigger blast radius than all other traps. Only enemies on the ground are detected, but the explosion can damage flyers as well. The Proximity Mine will deal less damage the further a monster is from its center. At the edge of its range, the explosion only deals 5% of its maximum damage.

Stat Scaling[]

  • Stat measurements taken in Redux without upgrades or additional buffs.
  • On Nightmare and Ascension, all traps have 0.75x charges and deal 1.35x damage.

Trivia[]

  • Written on the explosives in the center of the trap are the words "High Explosive. Dangerous. Probably too small to read! Kaboom Inc."

  • Upgrading a hero defense increases its damage by 10% per level and its health, lifespan or detonation count by 20%. A fully upgraded defense will have +50% damage and +100% health/lifespan/detonation count.
  • On the other hand, upgrading a defense treats as if the builder's Range and Defense Rate stats were higher. A level 1 turret receives a +2 bonus, while a level 5 turret gets +36.
