How should I level my characters?

Ok, first things first: I like to class myself as a rising veteran of Dungeon Defenders after creating 4 level 70s on Xbox and helping my friends to achieve great things. I realise I may have also started this off a bit big-headed but oh well. Anyway, I recently transferred from Xbox to PS3 and the first game I got was Dungeon defenders. After 2 days I now have a pure tower build Squire but here's my problem... what character should I make next? I was originally thinking about a DPS Huntress, then realised DPS Squires come in handy too. Also, after a large amount of reading, I finally accepted the helpfulness of monk auras and have contemplated creating a monk. And finally, an apprentice tower build always helps. So my predicament is so: Which should I make first (I will eventually have a DPS and Tower build of every character) having made my tower Squire?
